Characters, Setting, and Plot

MCAS is over and we are back on our regular schedule. This week in reading we focused on characteristics of a story;  characters, setting, and plot. Students chose a fairy tale, folk tale, or fable to create a story map. Students wrote about the characteristics of their story.

Students also learned about character traits and how a character helps to shape the story. Students chose a different fairy tale, myth, or fable, picked a character from that story, and wrote about that character's personality. In their writing students had to provide evidence from the story where their character demonstrates behavior consistent with that personality trait.
