Math Fun

In math we have been learning to classify quadrilaterals based on their characters. Did you know that a square is really a special type of rectangle with four congruent sides? We do! Students have been categorizing shapes based on number of sides, how many pairs of parallel lines, and how many right angles. Today in math we had some fun with quadrilaterals and polygons. Students used quadrilaterals to create their math monster! Students created a monster that would tell about them. For the choose a shape that has the same number of letters as their name, whether the student has long hair or short determined if the arms were right angles or straight angles, and whether or not the student had a pet determined whether  or not the legs intersected. The students created some great math monsters!

                                                 A great group of kiddos!
