The week in Review

It was a busy week in 3f! On Monday Mr. B came to our classroom during Writer's Workshop. He was there to let the students know whether or not their writing had persuaded him to let the kids have P.E. every day.He was very impressed with the students writing and agreed  with the arguments the kids made about why they should have P.E. every day. Unfortunately, due to budget issues and the fact that Ms. Gebo is not at Sunderland everyday it is not possible for the students to have P.E. every day. He did, however, give the students a chance to earn some extra P.E. with him. (And from what I have heard from my daughter, Mr. B is an awesome P.E. teacher!)

A big thank you to Michelle Burgess, who donated Popsicles for the students to enjoy on a particularly spring like day!

On Wednesday we had the Fun Run! Unfortunately, I was not able to be there. I was at a grade level meeting at Whately Elementary School with the other third grade teachers in the district. Thank you Michelle Penza for taking pictures in my absence! I wish I could have been there! It looks like everyone had a great time!

Waiting for the Fun Run to start!

And he's off!

Run, David, run!

Here comes Jlane!

Thursday was bring your child to work day here at Sunderland Elementary School. My daughter, Raechel, who is in 5th grade at Deerfield Elementary School, spent the day in our classroom. She helped students with their morning work, read a book to the students, and even baked cupcakes for the students to enjoy at snack time. She had a great time in our classroom and enjoyed meeting the students!

Thursday was also Arts Night here at SES! It was an absolutely amazing night! The students rocked the house with some kid friendly versions of some great Rolling Stones songs!

Friday was National Poem in your Pocket Day. (Who knew there was such a day?!)  Our class celebrated by joining our kindergarten buddies in Ms. Antes' class and reading some great poetry. Thank you to Mrs. Penza who made some great butterfly snacks for our class to share with our kindergarten buddies! (They were so adorable!)

I hope everyone is enjoying Spring Break! I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday! Please check your child's take home folder for some classroom newsletters about MCAS and about our community service project sending care packages to soldiers stationed overseas.

Have a great day! Remember to fill someone's bucket today! :)

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks! Enjoy!

We had P.E. in the classroom Thursday because the gym was set up for Arts Night, but Ms. Gebo made sure the kids had fun. Here they are playing one of their favorite games, Bill calls Bob.

Ashley did a great job leading calendar math
