Kunsang and Cordelia hard at work
In writing students continue to work on their persuasive videos. It so very exciting to watch them plan, write, record, and edit. This is a project that the students are very excited about. Information will be coming home soon about a day and time when parents will be invited in to view the completed projects. Look for it to come home by the end of the week.In reading we are continuing with our poetry unit. Students have been writing poetry in different styles such as haiku, cinquain, and acrostic poems. Students have also been reading poetry by different poets, Jack Prelusky and Shel Silverstein are classroom favorites. We love the silly poems! Remember our class poetry party is June 19th at 1:30. We hope to see you there!
Yesterday as morning work students calculated how much in pounds and ounces we sent over to the soldiers stationed in Afganistan. Our class sent approximately 125 pounds in supplies over to the troops. That is awesome! We are also tracking where the packages are, so we will know when they arrive in Afganistan. Right now we think our packages are somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean. They left Nashua, New Hampshire on May, 18th. We are hoping to get another update soon.
We are hoping for sunny skies tomorrow. (We will even take cloudy, just no rain!) our field trip up Mount Sugarloaf is tomorrow. If is does rain tomorrow we will re-schedule the field trip for June 16th.
Have a great night. Remember to fill someone's bucket.
