Busy day!

We started off our busy day with the presentation of our final persuasive project; the students presented their video projects to parents and visitors. The students worked very hard on these projects and I am very proud of them. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to join us and support our students and all of their hard work.

At P.E. we were joined by our kindergarten buddies in Ms. Antes' class so we could learn about the different types of tie dye t-shirts we will be masking on Monday. Ms. Antes and I wanted Ms. Gebo to teach our students about the different types of tie dye t-shirts  because Ms. Gebo is an expert at tie dye. Thank you Ms. Gebo, we appreciate all your help.

During writer's workshop we worked with Mrs. Zadworny's class. Our students gave their descriptive writing pieces to Mrs. Zadworny's class and our students got Mrs. Zadworny's students' descriptive writing pieces. Students then had to draw themonster described in the writing. After everyone was done drawing we got the classes together to see how accurate they were with their drawing based on the description they were given. This was a very interesting assignment; the students learned how important it is to give specific details in their writing, make sure their writing is clear and concise, and that sequence is very important. They learned that word choice is important when creating a picture in the reader's mind.

Big news in our class today! We received a thank you letter from a soldier in Afghanistan today. The students were so excited to hear from a soldier. The class and I absolutely loved this project!

Don't forget that tomorrow is our field trip. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather, there is 70 percent chance of rain.  Let's hope for a great field trip!

Have a great night!
