Sunderland in Action Day

Sunderland in Action was a huge success! Our class spent two  hours gardening. Our class was divided into two groups. One group worked with Mrs. Kidder and I to plant a garden by the side entrance. (This is the entrance the walkers/ parent pick up students use to leave school every day.) The  students helped Mrs. Kidder plant a lupine garden, that was inspired by the book Miss Rhumpius. The second group of students worked with Mrs. Penza helping out on the kindergarten playground. This group of students helped dig holes for bird house, added mulch to the existing gardens, and helped plant new gardens. I am so proud of how hard all the students worked on Friday.  In the afternoon the students were treated to freeze-pops (Thank  you Lincoln and family!) and some extra recess.

Have a great weekend! I will post more pictures tomorrow.
