It was another
great day in third grade!
We had our first
morning meeting today. We greeted each other with the web greeting. In the web
greeting you roll a ball of yarn to the person you want to greet, they hold
onto to a part of it before they roll it to the person they want to greet, and
it continues this way until the last person is greeted. When we were done we
had made a huge web with each person holding on to a part of the web. This lead
to a discussion of how everyone in the classroom is connected and how our
choices impact others in the class.
On the first day
of school students shared their hopes, dreams, and goals for third grade. Today
we talked about how we should behave if we not only want to accomplish our
goals, but also help our friends accomplish their goals. We brainstormed a list
of all those behaviors. Then Michaela raised her hand and said, "If we
show respect for each other we will be doing all of those things." Well
said Michaela. We had just created our first classroom rule.
3F's Classroom Rules:
1. Show respect for everyone
Votes have been
cast, counted, and our class mascots have officially been named. The winning
names are: Billy Bob Joe and Billy Bob Joe Jr.
I am looking
forward to another great week in 3F.
Remember to fill
someone's bucket today! :)
