News From 3F
Greetings 3F Families,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful three day weekend! I hope you were able to have some fun together as a family. I just wanted to let you know about a change that will be taking place in our classroom that I am very excited about. Within the next few weeks you will see a change to our spelling program. (When I know the exact date I will let you know. I am waiting for the books that central office ordered to arrive.) The spelling program that we will be switching to is Words Their Way. This a program that is used by many other classrooms in the district, endorsed by Louise Law, (our elementary school curriculum coordinator), and endorsed by Columbia University Teacher’s College. Words Their Way is a word study program, students learn patterns to help them spell. It also teaches vocabulary and word structure. I just wanted to make you aware of this exciting change. I will send more information home when we start this program.
Our classroom is in need of a few supplies. If you can send in any item from the following list it would be greatly appreciated.
Kleenex (It is cold season)
Post it Notes (any color)
Gallon sized Ziploc Baggies
Sandwich sized Ziploc Baggies
Ream of white cardstock
Thank you in advance your help! Our classroom appreciates it!
Don’t forget Scholastic book orders are due this Friday!
If you have not sent in your child’s permission slip and money for our field trip to Historic Deerfield, please do so as soon as possible.
