What a great way to start a Monday! Sunderland Elementary School was treated to the sounds of Manguito. Manguito is a musical group out of Boston, that takes the audience on a musical tour of the Caribbean. They introduced the students to the rhythms of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic on a variety of instruments that come from the Caribbean. Music, singing, and dancing what a great way to start off the week! Thank you to the PTO for helping to bring Manguito to SES!
After singing and dancing, it was time to get back to work. Back in the classroom it was time for students to have peer conferences. Students worked with a partner and offered suggestions on how their partner could improve their informational piece of writing. Students did a great job giving specific suggestions on ways their partner could improve upon their writing. Students also found very specific compliments to give their partner.

| Playing Multiplication Bump! | | | | In math we have started our chapter on multiplication and division. Many students in our classroom are fluent with their multiplication facts, however in this chapter we are learning vocabulary words related to multiplication, what it means to multiply(combining equal groups), and how multiplication and division are related. If your child does not know their multiplication facts, they should be practicing at home. I have extra flashcards in the classroom, please let me know if you would like to borrow some flashcards.
