Classroom News

We have started a new writing project. (This is in addition to our persuasive video project that students continue to work on.) our new writing project is called Monster Exchange. This is a descriptive writing project. Students create and draw their own monster. Students decide what their monster will look like and what type of personality it will have. After students draw their monster, students write a descriptive piece of writing about their monster. When students are finished with the piece of writing describing their monster's personality and what it looks like, we will switch with another class. The students in that class will try to draw our students' monsters based only on their description. This is a fun project that students are really enjoying. It can't to see how well students did describing their monsters.

To get this project started students practiced drawing a monster by listening to the description of the featured monster Purple Flea. Here are some students with their Purple Flea and the original drawing of the Purple Flea. The students did a great job listening to the description.
