Last Friday was our drop in the bucket party. Students brought in sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows to build forts. Students spent the morning in their forts reading, drawing, and playing games. (Profe Clarita even let the students stay in their forts to play a game during Spanish.) The students developed an elaborate delivery system to deliver letters to students in other forts. Students enjoyed an extra recess period and stayed outside for recess with the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. (This was something all the students were excited about!) In the afternoon we had pizza for lunch and enjoyed a movie in the classroom. It was a fun day!
This week we have a visiting artist at Sunderland Elementary School. Cynthia Fisher is at our school helping the students create a glass tile mosaic that will be installed in the front hallway by the main office. Our class has been twice and the students have really enjoyed being a part of this creative process. We get to go to the art room again tomorrow to help out on this project. It will look beautiful in the hallway.
Tomorrow we will be making our tie dye t- shirts with our kindergarten buddies and Ms. Gebo. Don't forget our field trip to the Lupa Zoo is next Monday.
Have a great night!
