Sunderland in Action Day
Last Friday was the first ever Sunderland in Action Day and it was a huge success. Classes in all grade levels participated in giving back to our school and our community. Our class helped to keep our school clean and looking good. In the morning we put on rubber gloves and walked the school campus picking up garbage. I have to tell you I was very surprised with the amount of litter we picked up from the playground and fields. While we were out picking up trash we were treated to a spectacular show by a fox out hunting for a mid- morning snack. The kids absolutely loved watching it run, jump, and pounce. (The fox didn't seem to mind that we were standing a safe distance away watching, he seemed much more concerned in catching his meal.) in the afternoon we helped out the school, and Mr. Grace, by washing windows in the front entryway. We ended our day with Popsicles in the pavilion and a little extra recess time. It was a great day and a great way to give back to our school and our community. I hope Mr. B makes this an annual event!
