Classroom Constitution
At the beginning of the school years students shared their hopes and dreams for fifth grade. As a follow up activity, and to help establish our class constitution, we brainstormed what types of expected behaviors everyone in the classroom should have to help each other reach our goals. Students wrote these behaviors on Post it notes. Next the students met in groups. Their job was take the expected behaviors each person came up with and catergorize them. (For example safe behavior, respectful behavior, etc.) From these groups of expected behaviors we wrote our classroom constitution.
