Finally! An Update From 5F

Our class has been very busy these past few weeks, so let me get you updated on what has been going on in 5F.  

In math we have started Module 2. (A parent handbook for Module 2 was sent home about two weeks ago. These are great for when your child needs a little extra help with their homework. If you didn't get one, please let me know and I will make sure one gets in your child's backpack.) Module  2 is all about mulitlication and division of multi-digit whole numbers. It is important that your child has their basic multiplication and division facts memorized, this will make this module much easier for them. 

In writing we have finished our unit on personal narratives. (Don't forget our Writing Celebration is Friday, December 18th.) for the next two and a half weeks we will be doing a short unit on writing a literary essay. I am excited about this unit because it will combine what the students have been learning in reading with what they will be learning in writing.

In reading we our finishing up our unit on realistic fiction. This upcoming week we will be studying author's craft.
