It was a beautiful Monday at Sunderland Elementary School. It was a busy day in 3f; it was a day full of thinking, learning, and doing new things. Today was the first day we got the chance to go to art and meet our new art teacher, Ms. Dara Herman-Zierlein. It was also the first time this year that we went to the library. Also, those students who signed up for strings got sized for their instruments.

We reviewed punctuation marks with the story, Punctuation Takes a Vacation. In writer's workshop students shared their writer's notebooks. It was great to see notebooks that really reflected students' personalities. I really enjoyed seeing how creative students were with this project. Of course, since it was writer's workshop we also did some writing. Students wrote their first small moment story of the year. I modeled how to zoom in on one small part of your day, not to tell  a big "bed to bed" story. It is like looking through a microscope or magnifying glass, you zoom in on a small piece of the bigger picture.

If you have not turned in your beginning of the year paperwork, please do turn it in as soon as possible.

Something new for third graders is the student planner. Please help your child remember to bring their student planner to school with them everyday. Thanks! :)

Pictures are coming soon!
