Magnificent Monday!

It was a magnificent Monday at Sunderland Elementary School! It was great to see everybody's smiling face and hear about everyone's weekend adventures at morning meeting. In Writer's Workshop we examined small moment stories by other third grade students. We used our narrative writing checklist to talk about what students did well in their small moment story and what they could have done to improve the story. After evaluating small moment stories, students picked a new small moment to write about. I am very proud of how hard students are working on their small moment stories, they are crafting some great stories.

We also reviewed the different types of statements and what kind of punctuation mark goes at the end of each type of sentence.

In math we continue to work on different strategies that can be used to solve multiplication problems such as, drawing equal groups, drawing an array, skip counting, and using the commutative property of multiplication. Students are developing a good understanding of multiplication.

Open house is tomorrow night from 6:00 to 7:30. I hope to see you there!

Have a great evening and remember to fill someone's bucket!
