In Writer's Workshop we talked about how great writers deliberately choose how to end their stories and don't just stop writing. We examined the ending Karen Hesse wrote in her book Come On Rain. We talked about things she did to make her ending memorable; important actions, strong images, dialogue, and reminding us why that moment is important. Students looked at their ending to a small moment story and wrote to make their ending better.
Today in math we worked on solving division problems. Which of course means more tape diagrams. I love how the students are applying the strategies they learn to solve real life math problems. I also love that they are enjoying it! Math rocks!
