Great Day for Reading Groups!

Our class starts everyday with reading block and today was a fantastic day in reading! It was one of those moments that all teachers dream of, I looked up from the reading group I was working with and everyone in the class was engaged in the reading they were doing. I love moments like this! I love being a teacher! In reading we are focused on reading like a detective. When the students answer a question about the book they are reading they have to go back into the text the find evidence to prove their answer is correct. We have some great reading detectives in our classroom.
Jack hard at work answering his questions to The Chocolate Touch
Jenaily and Satafina read Midnight on the Moon
                                             Miss Elizabeth reads with Riley
Kaisac reads Midnight on the Moon
Silent reading in the bean bags

Today was a rainy day which means indoor recess. Twister seems to be a very popular game during indoor recess this year. Building with Legos is another popular activity among the boys.
Chris and Jack compare Pokemon cards during recess
Kaisac shows off his Lego creations
                                                             Twister fun!
Mr. Hargraves keeps the Twister game going
Lucas shows off his Lego helicopter
                                                Setting up some dominoes

I will post  pictures from Wednesday's field trip and  of our fire safety visit on Friday later this afternoon. Have a great day! It looks like it will be a beautiful fall day outside! I hope you get outside and enjoy it!
