Today was Monday, so that means in reading we focused on the test taking genre. For the past few weeks students have been learning how to read like a detective, how to underline the evidence they find, and how to rewrite the question as part of their answer. Today the students used those skills to independently read a passage and answer questions. I was impressed with how the students did, they were rereading parts of the text, they were marking where in the text they found their answer, and highlighting the evidence in the text that supported their answer. It was definitely a job well done!
In Writer's Workshop we joined Mrs. Wells' first grade class again to finish our letters to service members in honor of Veteran's Day.
There are no spelling words this week due to the there half days. Have a great night!
