No More Snow Days!

I am sure most parents weren't happy about getting the phone call from Marti Barrett Sunday night. I have to say I wasn't happy about it either. Don't get me wrong, I love winter, I love all the snow we have been getting, and I think it looks absolutely beautiful outside; I just don't want anymore snow days. (On side note, I wouldn't want the responsibility Mrs. Barrett has; deciding whether or not to cancel school. That must be a lot of pressure.)

The students got right back to work today. In Writer's Workshop the students were working hard to finish up their biographies and get ready for Friday's Writing Celebration. It was one of those great teacher moments today during Writer's Workshop; I looked around the classroom and saw all the students engaged in some activity related to their biography project. It was great to see and it filled me such happiness and pride.

                                                     Students Hard at Work

Tomorrow  we will be holding an all school sing to honor members of the community. Our class will be sharing an acrostic poem we wrote using "thank you". The all school sing will take place in the cafeteria at 1:45. Parents are welcome to join us.

Don't forget our writing celebration is this Friday at 8:45. I hope to see you there. I am very excited to have the students share their writing with you. They have worked very hard on their informational writing.
