I feel like whenever I post to the blog lately I am apologizing for not posting on a more regular basis. The reasons I have are still the same. I am very busy in my personal life: my weekends are spent traveling to my son's soccer games and the rest of my free time is spent working on the house we just bought. Once the blog is up to date I promise to be better and post a least once a week. Thanks for understanding.
In math we have been studying geometry. Students learned about quadrilaterals and the attributes of different quadrilaterals. For examples did you know that a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square? It is true, just ask your kiddo why. We have also been learning how to find the perimeter (the distance around a shape) and area (the amount of space inside a shape) of quadrilaterals. . We will finish up our geometry unit after MCAS. After geometry we will do a brief unit on graphing. The rest of the school year will be spent reviewing major concepts of third grade such as; multiplication, division, and elapsed time.
Here are some pictures from math. Including some from a fun lesson creating a monster out of different polygons. Enjoy! :)
I will continue to update the blog. I am hoping to be finished with updates by the end of this weekend!
Have a great day! :)
